 Tension gripped Nkawkaw Adoagyire on Tuesday night after two motor riders were involved in a frightening accident at the busy Square One Junction near Grace Land, drawing a large crowd of angry onlookers.

One of the motorbikes involved was a black standard street motorcycle, which appeared slightly older but solidly built. The bike suffered significant damage at the rear section, including bent metal parts, broken side components, and visible structural impact. Some of its rear fittings and alignment were affected due to the force of the collision.

The second motorbike was a red street motorcycle, which appeared newer and more modern in design. Although it remained standing, parts of its front area showed signs of impact, indicating it had forcefully collided with the black motorbike from behind. The red bike also carried two riders at the time of the incident.

How the Accident Happened

According to the rider of the black motorbike, he was attempting to bypass toward the right-side road leading straight to Nkawkaw New-Town, popularly known as Krofofrom. He explained that everything was normal until he suddenly heard a loud “bham” from behind. Before he could react, the red motorbike had crashed into him, causing extensive damage to his motorbike and throwing both riders into confusion.

Eyewitnesses at the scene were visibly upset and openly blamed the rider of the red motorbike. Many accused him of trying to shift the blame onto a taxi driver who was reportedly in front of him at the time of the incident. The angry crowd urged him to accept responsibility and stop accusing others.

Injuries and Immediate First Aid

Both riders involved suffered minor injuries. However, the situation was more serious for the passenger seated at the back of the red motorbike, who sustained a severe leg injury that resulted in noticeable bleeding.

Concerned individuals at the scene quickly rushed to assist, applying first aid to control the bleeding and stabilize the injured victim.

Peace Restored After Rider Accepts Responsibility

In order to restore calm and prevent further confrontation, the rider of the red motorbike eventually accepted responsibility for the accident.

Fortunately, one of the bystanders who witnessed the incident was a motorbike repairer. He stepped in to help fix some of the immediate damage on the black motorbike to make it manageable.

Due to the late hour and the fact that most repair shops in the area had already closed, both parties exchanged contact details and agreed to continue with full repairs the following day.

Situation Under Control

The situation eventually calmed down after the rider admitted fault, and no further conflict was reported.

The incident serves as a reminder for motor riders to remain alert, cautious, and responsible on busy roads, especially at night when visibility and reaction time may be reduced.
