The terrible shooting event that happened earlier today at Nkawkaw Zongo Barracks has taken a new turn, as it has been confirmed that the three people who were killed were Fulani males, according to new information.
The victims were sitting at their regular meeting spot, which included the owner of the store where the shooting took place, when unidentified gunmen fired on them without warning, according to eyewitness accounts.
Investigations are still ongoing, and no official motive has been determined yet; however, community sources now think the incident might be connected to a Fulani-related misunderstanding or quarrel.
According to the Nkawkaw Police Command, the three deceased have been taken to the mortuary. An official police statement outlining the facts and next measures is anticipated as investigations are apparently under way. Currently undergoing medical care is a fourth person, assumed to be a child, who was hurt in the attack.
The brutal attack has shaken the Zongo community, igniting fear and inflaming tensions. Some residents are calling for increased law enforcement presence, while others are pushing for more drastic action.
Residents are still searching for justice and explanations for the missing souls, which keeps the town agitated.
The Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Kwahu West, Halidu Tamimu, has outlined plans to enhance surveillance and police visibility along key areas.
He started,
"CCTV cameras will be installed in the area through a partnership with the Minister for Communications and Chief Executive Officer of the National Information Technology Agency (NITA) for further investigation,"
