 The Asona Takorase family of Nkwatia and Kwahu Tafo, together with the family, friends and sympathisers of Madam Elizabeth Afua Duku, also known as Afua Duku, have announced her passing at the age of 44.

The sad event occurred on September 4, 2026, at Kenop Care Hospital in Nkawkaw. Madam Elizabeth Afua Duku is survived by her children, siblings, grandchildren and other loved ones.



Her late father is identified as Mr Yaw Manu, while her late mother was Madam Abena Mirekua. The funeral announcement states that she leaves behind two grandchildren.




According to the family announcement, her wake-keeping will take place on Friday, October 23, 2026 at House Number NK 4, Kwahu Tafo, and burial service will continue on Saturday, October 24, 2026 inside the same house at Kwahu Tafo and it will be conducted by Christ Compassion Ministries.



Her final funeral rites will be held on Sunday, October 25, 2026 at Kwahu Tafo Durbar Grounds and on Monday, October 26, 2026, there will be a family gathering inside their family house at Kwahu Tafo.



The deceased is survived by Kissi Augustine of Wasa Akuropong, Philip Boakye of Nkawkaw, Ernest Mireku of Anwea Nkwanta, Priscilla Nkansah, a student of the University of Health and Allied Sciences, Josephine Kisiwaa, a pupil of St. Cecilia's Girls School in Nkawkaw, Kofi Amoako of Pepease, and siblings are Amma Ruth of Kotoso, and Beatrice Teneawaa Agyapong of Nkawkaw.




Her brothers and sisters are Mr. Kwasi Ameyaw who is in Kotoso, Madam Adwoa Ankomaa who is in Nkawkaw, Mr. Kwabena Ketewa who is in Akyem Asunafo, Mr. Kwabena Panyin who is also in Akyem Asunafo, Madam Adwoa Badu who is in Kotoso, and Mr. Yaw Aboagye who is in Kwahu Tafo.

The chief mourners are Nana Kwasi Opoku Mintah II, Kwahu Tafohene and Twafohene of the Kwahu Traditional Council, Nana Gyemfua Aduako II, Kwahu Tafohemaa and Twafohemaa of the Kwahu Traditional Council, Asona Takorawase Abusuapanyin Hon. Dr. Bryan Acheampong, MP for Abetifi Constituency, Nana Yaw Antwi Boasiako Adarkwah II, and many more.




The cause of Madam Elizabeth's death is not yet known and it was not stated in the funeral announcement too. The family has extended an invitation to all friends, sympathisers and loved ones to join them during the funeral ceremonies as they bid farewell to Madam Elizabeth Afua Duku.
