Nkawkaw-based hip-hop musician Frederick Osei-Buabeng, popularly known as Phada Gaza or Kwame Kissi, has been stabbed to death following a violent confrontation in Nkawkaw, in Ghana’s Eastern Region.
According to eyewitness reports, the incident occurred on Sunday, November 2, 2025, during a heated dispute between Phada Gaza and a man identified as Kwashiga, a bouncer at the Nkawkaw Real Parker Event Center. The confrontation reportedly arose from a territorial disagreement between two rival groups based in Nkawkaw.
Witnesses say the fight began after a member of Kwashiga’s group allegedly went to Gaza’s base to sell marijuana. Gaza, upon discovering this, reportedly confronted and assaulted the young man. Kwashiga then confronted Gaza, leading to a violent altercation that ended with Gaza being fatally stabbed.

Residents say tensions between the two men had been ongoing since 2016, fueled by disputes over land and influence in the neighboring communities of Kookom and Agbogbloshie. Sources claim that Kwashiga, originally from Accra, had acquired several parcels of land in the area through his father, which allegedly caused friction with Gaza’s group.
During the fight, both men allegedly stabbed each other; Phada Gaza sustained multiple wounds around the armpit, ribs, and lower abdomen. He was rushed to the Holy Family Catholic Hospital in Nkawkaw but was pronounced dead on arrival. Kwashiga survived and was later referred to the Police Hospital Accra for specialized care.
His death has shocked fans and residents alike, many of whom have expressed grief over his passing.
The Ghana Police Service at Nkawkaw has launched an investigation into the incident, and authorities are yet to confirm whether any arrests have been made.
