Relief and celebration have swept through the community following the safe recovery of a newborn who was stolen from the Mamprobi Polyclinic in Accra. The infant has been reunited with the mother after a tense five-day search that gripped the nation and raised urgent questions about hospital security.
🔎 Breakthrough Through Social Media
The dramatic recovery came after a whistleblower alerted authorities upon recognizing the baby from photographs circulating widely on social media. According to reports, the suspect had taken the child to a clinic at Nkaobang seeking medical attention, a move that ultimately led to her exposure.
Law enforcement officers from the Ghana Police Service swiftly acted on the tip-off, tracking down and arresting the main suspect, a woman who is now in custody assisting with investigations.

After the rescue, the infant was returned to Mamprobi Polyclinic for a thorough medical examination. Although the baby reportedly developed a temperature shortly after being found, medical staff have confirmed that the child is now in good health and responding well to care.
