Sister Exposes Sister: How a Woman’s Own Sibling Helped Police Rescue Stolen Baby in Accra.
In a shocking and dramatic turn of events, a woman accused of stealing a newborn baby from the Mamprobi Polyclinic in Accra has been exposed with the help of her own sister.
The suspect, identified as Latifa Salifu, allegedly carried out the operation successfully and fled with the newborn baby, causing widespread panic and concern across the community.
The incident quickly gained attention after CCTV footage and media reports circulated, showing the suspect dressed as a nurse holding the infant.
However, in an unexpected twist, Latifa’s own sister played a crucial role in helping authorities solve the case.
Sister’s Suspicion Leads to Arrest.
According to reports, Latifa contacted her sister shortly after the incident, claiming she had given birth and invited her to come and see the baby.
But her sister immediately became suspicious, as she was aware Latifa had not been pregnant.
Her suspicions were further confirmed after seeing news reports and images circulating about the stolen newborn from Mamprobi Polyclinic.
Realizing the truth, she courageously alerted the police and provided key information.
This tip-off enabled law enforcement officers to quickly track down the suspect and locate the baby at another hospital facility.
Thankfully, the newborn was rescued safely and reunited with authorities without harm.
Court Proceedings Underway.
Following her arrest, Latifa Salifu was arraigned before an Accra court and charged with child stealing. She pleaded not guilty during her first court appearance.
The court has since remanded her into custody while investigations continue. Authorities say further hearings will determine the next stage of the legal process.
The incident has sparked widespread reactions, with many praising the suspect’s sister for choosing truth and justice over family loyalty.
Her brave decision played a critical role in ensuring the safe recovery of the innocent child.
Police have assured the public of their continued commitment to protecting citizens and ensuring justice is served.
