In a major breakthrough, security authorities have arrested four key members of a robbery syndicate linked to the shocking murder of Mr. Andrews Amankwah, the father-in-law of Hon. Sammy Gyamfi.
The suspects were apprehended during separate intelligence-led operations carried out across Kumasi and surrounding areas.
The tragic incident occurred on February 10, 2026, at Ohwim-Amanfrom, a suburb of Kumasi, where Mr. Amankwah was reportedly attacked and killed in a robbery that sent shockwaves across the country, especially among political and social circles.

■ Bashiru Tanko, also known as “TK” (33yrs).
■ Kojo Amponsah, also known as “Kamakazi” (35yrs).
■ Eric Antwi Duku (42yrs) – believed to be the gang leader.
During one of the special operations to apprehend the gang leader, Eric Antwi Duku reportedly sustained gunshot wounds. He was quickly rushed to a medical facility but was later pronounced dead while receiving treatment.
Security officials revealed that several incriminating items were recovered from the suspects during the operations. These include:

Police have assured the public that they remain committed to ensuring justice is served and that anyone connected to the crime will face the full rigours of the law.
