The family of Mercy Opokuah, popularly known as Adwoa Tokesie, a well-known chop bar owner at Nkawkaw Nsuta in the Kwahu West Municipality of the Eastern Region, has officially confirmed her passing.

Adwoa Tokesie was widely recognized in the Nkawkaw community for her popular chop bar located around Hotel Junction near ICGC.

Her food joint was a favorite spot for many residents and travelers who visited the area daily to enjoy her delicious local dishes.

She became famous for serving a variety of traditional Ghanaian meals, including Fufu, Konkonte, Banku, and Rice Balls (Emotuo) with different types of tasty local soups. Because of the quality of her meals and her friendly personality, many customers developed a strong bond with her over the years.

Following her passing, the family has announced that her one-week observation will be held on Friday, 13th March 2026, at Nkawkaw Hotel Junction near ICGC. The event is scheduled to take place from 6:00 AM to 12:00 PM.

According to the family, all friends, customers, and sympathizers are warmly invited to join them in remembering and celebrating the life of the beloved food vendor who served the community for many years.
