It was reported earlier this morning that, seventeen 17 Fulani's suspected to be armed robbers were arrested by Eastern Regional Police Commander, Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Ebenezer Tetteh at Donkorkrom in Kwahu Afram Plains North district.
Four hundred and ten 410 BB cartridges, four 4 short guns, 19 mobile phones, 66 live AAA, 3 locally manufactured guns, 17 machetes were found on these seventeen 17 Fulani's suspected to be armed robbers in Kwahu Afram Plains North district and it was retrieved from them.
The Assembly Member of the area on this issue, he confirmed on one of the local based radio station in Nkawkaw that, according to the Fulani's they are not armed robbers but were in the process to rescue their kidnapped families.
They explained that, their families, father and his son had gone missing for days in Kwahu Afram Plains North district and had a call from unknown number demanding Sixty thousand Ghana Cedis (Gh¢60000) from them so they decided to take action by themselves to rescue their families.
Now the Eastern Regional Police, Duputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Ebenezer Tetteh have confirmed that, these seventeen (17) Fulani's suspected to be armed robbers are in their police custody, for further investigations of unlawful weapons under their possession.
He said, these suspects will be arraigned after they have concluded their investigations.
