Ghana's Christian community is in grief after Prophet Nigel Gaisie announced the passing of renowned clergyman Bishop Richard Ankomah Kwesi Ampofo on his official Facebook page.  Many Christians are devastated by the news, which was made on Saturday, June 14, 2025.

The founder and leader of the Christian Redemption International Ministry, Bishop Ampofo, was a well-known and respected figure in Ghanaian religion. His unexpected passing has shocked many people, both inside and beyond the church. The country mourns this loss with his family and congregation.

Prophet Gaisie posted an impassioned follow-up post:

“Agya, you made our prophetic calling smoother... You never tried to bring us down. Your final words of wisdom still linger in my ears. Thank you for guiding us. Rest in the prophetic arms of Jesus Christ. Agya Nsiah.”

The loss comes just after Bishop Ampofo's nephew was buried, making the grief even more severe for the mourning family.

In remembrance of the late bishop's fatherly affection and unwavering dedication to ministry, many churchgoers and fans have posted condolence messages online. A popular spiritual figure, he was affectionately referred to as "Big Daddy."
