 Recall that a few weeks prior, during a friend's funeral, the young people of Asante-Akyem Akutuase performed the most bizarre thing: they carried the deceased man's body around the funeral grounds on their shoulders.

Social media users harshly condemned and raised eyebrows in response to a video of the incident that went viral.

Social media users who saw the video criticized the young men for being impolite and for defaming their friends' final, mortal remains.

It has come to light that three of the young guys who had desecrated their friend's dead body had passed away.

The people are confident they have been punished by the land's gods, even though it is unclear if the deed actually caused their demise.

According to Chief Bediako, the Traditional Council has put in place punitive measures to make sure that similar crimes don't happen again.

A fine has been imposed on the deceased's father as well as the person who made the video and shared it on social media. During the "Awukude3" festival on July 17, 2024, the fines are a part of the efforts to purify "Brosambour," the town's sacred god.

“The Traditional Council has taken serious steps to ensure that such despicable acts do not recur,” Indeed, Nana Bediako said.
