Bawku is one of the regions of Ghana which is located in the Upper East of Ghana. On Monday, 9th of May, 2022, there were riots among some ethnic groups in Bawku where four people were confirmed dead.
According to Bawku Police, they do not know the source of the ethnic riots but they are doing further investigation on the issue.
District Police Commander, Superintendent Simon Peter Akabati make it clear to the public when he was interviewed on one of the television stations that, the situation had been brought under control and they are doing their best with the collaboration with Ghana Military Soldiers to maintain peace and properties at Bawku.
Five suspected teenagers were arrested according to Superintendent Simon Peter Akabati of Bawku for prosecution.
