Self-Service Application For SIM Card Re-registration Has Been Released, Check It Out Now.

 

The self-service application which was promised by the government some weeks ago has been fulfilled because of the growing concern of the government.


This application is only a Mobile application allowing all telecommunications  networks (MTN, Glo, AirtelTigo and Vodafone)  customers in Ghana to complete their SIM Card Re-registration using their valid Ghana Card only. The name of this self-service application is GH Self SIM Reg.



Ursula Owusu-Ekuful, Communications Minister announced that the self-service application for sim card re-registration will be launched soon for all customers of Ghana Telecommunications networks to enable them to re-register their Sim cards for peaceful and successful registration and now the application has been launched.



According to Ursula Owusu-Ekuful, this self-service application app for SIM Card re-registration is available now on both IOS and Android phones for easy download for the exercise. She started that, the lunch of the application was delayed to be launched earlier because of the Virtual Private Network (VPN) connectivity and the Application Programming Interface Integration (APII) with all the necessary MNOs.


According to her, the application was completed this month and needs to be released and launched on the Play Store for Android phone users and App Store for IOS phone users. Customers have to pay Five Ghana Cedi's (GHc5) for each application registration on the self-service application for the SIM Card re-registration.



A lot of Ghanaians have reacted to this news after the press briefing of Mrs Owusu-Ekuful. According to a lot of Ghanaians, this application has to be released and launched before the start of the registration to reduce the pressure on the Telecommunications Networks, especially Mobile Telecommunications Network (MTN) workers.
